LISA’S DUBLIN
Report
Prime Force has once again rounded up its tech guerrillasbfrom their hiding places across Europe. THE OCCASION: the already legendary Office Day. THE LOCATION? Dublin! Wait – an Office Day in Dublin, the pubgoer’s Mecca? No mercy – a true baptism of fire for me, a freshly minted Prime Force event manager and Office Day newbie. The bar was high for this cult event – after all, we weren’t just organizing the Office Day itself, but also the traditional event program from Thursday through to Saturday. But how does the saying go? All’s well that ends well! Dublin – and the baptism of fire – was a total success! See for yourself...
our pub debut
THE HARD CORE: Our fun faction successfully fought off sleep to enjoy our fi rst Guinness on the Emerald Isle. THE ABSENTEES: Some of the (supposedly) tough guys wanted to make sure they got their beauty sleep before the Office Day. Shame on them! ;-)
THE MORNING AFTER: SYNERGIES AND STAYING POWER
THE OFFICE DAY: Conversation, current specialist topics and Prime Force’s future prospects provided plenty of motivation to get us out of bed again. We participated, we collaborated... and all in all we had a great time. THE VICTORS: The fun faction from the night before held their own nicely against the sleepy pub absentees when it came to enthusiasm. Conclusion: one-nil to the fun faction!
FROM CONFERENCE ROOM TO CELLAR
IN THE REALM OF THE IRISH: Those of us still thinking of Tennessee distilleries ahead of our trip to the Whiskey Museum were soon shown the light. With its countless different fl avors, there was something for everyone in this treasure house of Irish gold. Drawing on both Celtic enthusiasm and deep historical expertise, our guides left us in no doubt that Ireland is truly the home of whiskey!
A CULINARY CRESCENDO
THE RETREAT: We urgently needed some solid food to soak up all that whiskey. The logical solution: a retreat to the tradition-steeped Bloom Brasserie. THE CRESCENDO: The menu promised a culinary crescendo with an Irish twist. The highlight: a juicy Irish Angus beefsteak. The fastest way to the heart is through the stomach, as we can confi rm – Dublin certainly won our hearts with this dinner!
